GOOD EVENING BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!

Today’s post is all about HEALTHY SNACKING.

Some people prefer not to snack throughout the day, however I am not one of them. I find myself grabbing a snack a couple times a day and if I don’t, I will get hangry by the next meal time. The statement “I’m sorry for what I said when I was hungry” is the epitome of my life (I’m sure some of you know this about me). When I get hungry, I need to eat… ASAP.

With that being said, I thought I would share with you my GO-TO healthy snack options that are super simple and easy to grab on-the-go. I find that if I pre-make healthy snack options that I like, I eat healthier and am less likely to choose an unhealthy option.

My Top 5 Healthy Snack Options:

  1. Peanut Butter Ball Oats from Fit Foodie Finds

This recipe has minimal ingredients. Oats, peanut butter, honey, cocoa powder, and salt. You can even double the recipe and keep half in the freezer. I usually pack two for an afternoon snack. This recipe is loaded with fiber and healthy fats which will aid in keeping you full and satisfied until your next meal. Likewise, they truly taste like a sweet dessert. You can even make this for a healthier dessert throughout your week. Store in the fridge to keep them fresh the longest.

2. Healthy Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins from Fit Foodie Finds

I am a sucker for muffins. However, some are PACKED with sugars. And this recipe is not (which is why I love it). It is a healthier twist to the classic banana bread, which is one of my absolute favorites. You can add chocolate chips for added sweetness, but I prefer to keep them out. This recipe is perfect to make into mini muffins, allowing them to be a perfect snack size.

3. Healthy Peanut Butter Cups from Fit Foodie Finds

SWEETS! My favorite candy is Reeces Peanut Butter Cups. Sadly, they are not the most nutritious (I tell them myself they are good for the soul). However, this recipe is a twin to Reeces and is MUCH healthier. They do not have added sweeteners and sugars like Reeces does. This recipe is perfect to prepare and keep in the freezer for when you are craving a sweet dessert.

4. No Bake Peanut Butter Granola Bars from Ambitious Kitchen

If you haven’t noticed a trend here, I love peanut butter. I also love trail mix, so mix the two and you have a perfect combo. But seriously, these are super simple to make and are one of the easiest to grab when you are in a rush. They are lower in sugar in comparison to store bought granola bars. The mixture between nuts, coconut, peanut butter, flax seed will leave you completely satisfied with this SUPER yummy and healthy granola bars.

5. Creamy Strawberry Chia Seed Smoothie from Fit Foodie Finds

This is not just any old smoothie recipe. This will leave you salivating. In all seriousness, the chia seeds deliver massive amount of nutritious value with very few calories. They are high in Omega-3 fats, fiber, protein, and calcium. As I am dairy free, I substitute the yogurt and milk with silk yogurt and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!

These are by far my top 5 healthy snack recipes that are a staple in my life. I LOVE to have pre-made snacks that are available to me at all times since… ya never know when hunger will creep up on ya!

For me, it is important to distinguish when I am hungry and when I am bored and want to eat something. When I am truly hungry, I eat. No matter the time of day. I believe that if my body is telling me that I am hungry, I need a small snack. There is no need to fight your intuition.
